"When you see the color of their panties, you know you've got talent. Stick with me son and I'll make you a star."

Statistics show that, even a bad economy, there are still new millionaires made every day. So how do they do it? Were they born with an athletic talent? Great singing voice? Or simply born with a "silver spoon" in their mouth.
Were they self made men? Did they have a mentor? Were they really smart? Were they really creative? No matter what the case, either way, there are plenty of ways to make it in this world.
I have written many a blog about the success that comes from self confidence. Believing in oneself should, and always will be, the true key to success in my eyes. It's like the theory's that the time when you seem to attract all the women is when you already have a girlfriend, and the time when you seem to keep getting job offers is when you are already employed. Why is that? Some will say its because "you just got that look about you" when you have the freedom and calmness that comes with already having something. Now, can you relate that to financial success? And most importantly, can you "think it" before you even have it? Now that is the key.
Another good idea is to "go with your gut" and "stick to your passion". Even though the quote in my excerpt talks about being smarter then everyone in the room, I actually agree with the thought process that it is actually better to be the 'dumbest' guy in the room when creating your own company/franchise/small business. Because, again, you are suppose to be following your heart, and focusing on your passion. And if your passion is painting, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have any idea how to market, sell, promote, or even deliver your paintings to anyone.
I also believe in commitment, dedication, stability, and a long term vision. In the case of Harland David Sanders, better known as Colonel Sanders (KFC people), he didn't start making any real money until he was 65 years old.
Along with that, I feel it may be best to stick to one idea at a time, and run with it. I have seen many a man and woman talk about big ideas, and once they start gettin the juices flowin, they start thinking bigger and bigger, and start thinking of owning a store, running a website, making sweaters, selling ABC product, and trying out for the local pro sports team......all in one big drawn out thought.
Another key can, and always will be, the concept of having a true 'mentor' in your life. Even with life in general, it always helps for kids to have a 'role model' in their life. In the case of investor, businessman and self-help author Robert Kiyosaki, he always credits the knowledge and opportunities he learned and had from his "Rich Dad' and "Poor Dad".
Do you have a mentor? Do you have a Rich Dad or Poor Dad? Do you at least have some random neighbor, family friend, or coworker who has plans for a new and richer career. Maybe you should try to surround yourself with these people. This isn't school, and you shouldn't be focused on who is sitting at the cool kids table during lunch period. You should be studying the 'nerds' sitting in the corner, the 'weirdo' who always sits off in the distance, writing and drawing, and the 'wacko' singing to herself while taking a dump in the bathroom (preferably one who actually has good voice, obviously).
They always say its lonely at the top, but I never heard them say that its lonely getting there. If you can combine creativity, confidence, and humility, I think you got a shot.
What do you think?
