Höstens serenad
Låt de singlande löven vara
som räfsade färgklickar
som ger liv åt det döende gräset
som är på väg att somna in inför vinterns ankomst.
Låt höstens tillbakavändande rodnad
lysa med sin storslagenhet
nu när betraktelsens tid har kommit
innan vinterkylan dödar allt
som ska återskapas till nästa vår.
Låt de fallande löven skänka dig färgernas prakt
förgylla den gråa vardagen med guldröda toner
som harmoniserar med de nostalgiska tankarna
om sommaren som gått.
Låt den kyliga vinden göra sällskap
med det frusna hjärtat
när det ser det älskande paret som går hand i hand.
De, som överlevde vårens passion.
Som på en matta av flytande guld går du över
de nedfallna löven som inväntar sin eviga vila
generöst utbrett på den stig där du tar dina steg.
…och du går där ensam,
under himlavalvets flammande eldar,
utan att märka kyliga vindar och prasslande löv
som påkallar dig höstens sista serenad.

Odd Arverud is a songwriter and here he performs some of his songs.
